Toni Marie Wilson, 58, took her first breath of fresh air without pain as she stepped into the waiting arms of her loving Lord on Friday, March 2nd, 2012. She was born on February 17, 1954 in Cleveland, Mississippi to proud parents, Wilburn and Frances Brunetti Wilson. Born and raised in Cleveland, Toni graduated from Cleveland High School, and attended Delta State University where she received an undergraduate degree in Early Child Development.
After briefly teaching public school in Helena, Arkansas, Toni enrolled at UALR, receiving her master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy. She spent many years perfecting her gift of helping special needs children at Easter Seals and will always be remembered for her caring and personal touch.
She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the Miracle Team, participating in mission trips to do hurricane repairs, construction trips to Haiti, Our House food program, Methodist Children's Home Christmas meals and parties, Brady Elementary School adopt-a-classroom program, and Angel Tree Activities.
Toni was preceded in death by her father, Wilburn Wilson; a special aunt, Martha Wilson; maternal grandparents, Alexander and Elisa Pieroni Brunetti; and paternal grandparents, L.V. and Lillie Wilson. She is survived by her mother, Frances Wilson, sister, Patti Boswell and her brother-in-law, Billy Boswell, all from Cleveland, Miss.; a host of cousins and aunts and her good friend and companion, Bill Craig of Little Rock.
A service will be held on Wednesday, March 7th at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Betsy Snyder and Rev. Walter Smith officiating. There will also be a visitation and memorial service on Friday, March 9th at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Cleveland, Mississippi with Father Kent Bowlds officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 am.
Memorials may be made in honor of Toni's life to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Trinity United Methodist Church Miracle Team, or Easter Seals Speech and Language Division.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and nurses at Select Specialty Hospital, Dr. Morgan Sauer and the incredible staff at Hospice Home Care for their care and support of Toni in her final days.
