Tommy Cook

Tommy Cook, 78, of Okolona, Arkansas, passed from this life Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his home.

He was born December 26, 1945, in Okolona to Roger Cook and Lois Davis Cook.

He worked as a mechanic for International Paper and Georgia Pacific for thirty-two years.  He continued to work at his shop at his home up until his illness prevented him from doing so.  He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for deer hunting and fishing, and he owned and operated Dobyville Hunting Club.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffery Thomas Cook; one daughter, Mandy Kaye Pierce; his sister, Clara Mae Denton and his brothers, Millard (Ellie) D. Cook and Joe Cook. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty plus years, Phyllis Jean Trammel Cook of the home; his fur baby, Cricket; one daughter, Laura Pierce of Curtis, Arkansas; one son, Timmy (Deanna) Pierce of Okolona; a special brother-in-law, Harold Trammel; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind several special friends: Dennis Williams, Gary Bratton, Royce Hughes, Marty Cooper, Luke Nivens, Gaylen White, Woody May and Gail “Gomer” Gordon.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Dobyville Cemetery at a later date with a potluck at his deer camp to follow the service. 

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Humane Society of Clark County.
