Tommy Lee Cates, age 80, of McRae, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024. He was born in Beebe, Arkansas to Albert and Maxine (House) Cates.

Tommy was a truck driver for fifty years. He enjoyed coon, rabbit, and squirrel hunting, riding horses and loved his dogs. He had a great love for his family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. He loved fishing and thought he had to go eat fish every Thursday.

Tommy is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Lana; three children, Albert Lee Cates of Augusta, Rita Carol (Michael) Altom of Pangburn, Buddy Jay Cates of McRae; 5 grandchildren, Stephen (Amber), Andrew (Kelsey), Destiny (Paul IV), Sabrina (Wesley), and Alexis (Jacob); 7 great-grandchildren, Michael, Sam, Kayra, Tiana, Charlee, Alister, Paul V; and brothers, Edwin Cates and Randy Cates.

He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, J. C. Cates, and his brother, Donald Cates. 

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, December 12th at 10 A.M. at the Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Beebe, Arkansas.
