Tommy Lee Burroughs, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 1, 1941, in St. Louis Missouri to Lester Burroughs and Modine Spurlin Burroughs. Tommy was a proud truck driver, with Arkansas Best Freight, dedicated to his career and always ready for new adventures on the open road.

In his early years, Tommy discovered a passion for cars. This love was first shown during many drag races where he shared the track with his wife Joyce. He then moved on to restoring these timeless machines to their former glory. He also shared the love of restoring cars with his wife, Joyce. The last car the Burroughs’ restored together was a beautiful 1955 Chevrolet Belair. Tommy completed the metallic black outside while Joyce finished it out with bright red upholstery.

Tommy's infectious personality was a testament to his outgoing nature and witty sense of humor. He had an easy charm that drew people to him and made him an absolute joy to be around. His quick wit could brighten even the dullest of days, leaving laughter in its wake wherever he went.

On October 4, 1961, Tommy married the love of his life, Joyce Rowell. Their marriage was built on a foundation of love, trust, and unwavering support for each other. Together they weathered life's storms and celebrated its joys side by side. Their union was blessed with their only child, a daughter named Tammy Rebecca.

Tommy's family meant everything to him. He adored his daughter Tammy and was immensely proud of the person she became. His grandchildren Jacob Spencer Jacques and Taylor Mackenzie Jacques brought him immeasurable joy and filled his heart with happiness. Their smiles lit up his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Tommy's son-in-law JJ Jacques and his nephew Jason Timbs, also held a special place in his heart.  And his Oma Church Family, provided him with many laughs, much love and a pocketful of butterscotch.

As we reflect on Tommy's life, we remember a man who lived each day to the fullest and faced every challenge with unwavering determination. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he selflessly provided them with a lifetime of memories they will forever hold dear.

Tommy Lee Burroughs is survived by his loving wife Joyce R Burroughs, their daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Rebecca Jacques and JJ Jacques, grandchildren Jacob Spencer Jacques and Taylor Mackenzie Jacques, nephew Jason Timbs, brother-in-law Roy Rowell and sister-in-law Katie Rowell as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Lester Burroughs, mother Modine Burroughs , brothers Sonny and Ronnie Burroughs, sister Nadine Timbs.

He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. Tommy's memory will forever remain in our hearts as we continue to cherish the laughter, love, and beautiful moments shared with this remarkable man.
