Tom A. Tilley age 86 of Manning passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at his home. He was born May 21, 1924 in Smead, Arkansas the son of the late Roy and Rebecca Mae Way Tilley. Tom was a member of Manning Baptist Church, a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on the U.S.S. Santee and a Mason. He retired from the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers in 1984 as the superintendent at the Blakely, Narrows and DeGray Power Plants.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Ima Jean Harris Tilley; two daughters, Sandra Sorrells and husband, Randy of Amity, Arkansas; Susan Bryant Kelly of Hot Springs, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Paige Sorrells Cowart and husband, Jody of Lodi, Arkansas; Rachel Bryant Paull and husband, Joseph of Malvern, Arkansas; Casie Bryant of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; one great-granddaughter, Emma Paull of Malvern, Arkansas; two brothers, Nelson Tilley of Bearden, Arkansas; John Tilley of Irving, Texas; one sister, Noralene Beeson of Garland, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, September 17, 2010 at Manning Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Reed and Bro. James Ezell officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers will be Johnny Mallett, Mike Curtis, Phil Bryant, James Hunt, Robbie Ledford and Tracy Holloway.
