Timothy Randall Denny

Timothy (Tim) Denny received his new orders on November 17, 2024, and reported to duty in his Lord’s Kingdom. At 5:33 am that morning he departed his worn body that had been fighting pancreatic cancer for seventeen long months and received his perfect new body in his heavenly home, all of which were prepared just for him, by God. The cancer did not win or take his life, it could not, because Tim had already given his life to Christ. He was grounded in his faith and God’s promise, that the soul could not be defeated, taken, or harmed. The ship could not be sunk!

Tim was welcomed to God’s Kingdom by his mother, Kaye Lee Denny; father, Horace Denny; grandparents, William & Norene Taylor; brother, David Denny; aunts, Faye Lee & Barbara Jacobs; mother-in-law, Wilma Jeanne Willis; as well as a host of friends and fellow Vets.

Tim was a difference maker during his 59 years on this earth. His love of people, prayer, and service to our country impacted so many lives. Tim would say the greatest impact on his life, was the overwhelming joy he received from his daughters and grandkids. Each time he put on his uniform to serve our country, he did so with a commitment to make sure they could live their lives to the fullest in the land of the free.

Tim loved his country and was honored to serve in the United States Navy for twenty-three duty filled years. He took pride in the brotherhood and fellowship of those he served with during Beirut/Lebanon, Libya, Kosovo, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom tours. He received many accolades while serving, Navy Unit Commendation (x2); Navy Achievement Medal (x3), National Defense Service Medal (x2), Armed Forces Expeditionary medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Flag Letter of Commendation, Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal (x2), Navy Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon, & Navy Rifle Marksmanship Ribbon.

After the Navy, Tim worked at Roller Funeral Home, MEMS, and the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Tim concluded his civil career working for Baptist Health in Little Rock, the same great people who supported and comforted him, as a patient, throughout this last year.

Tim was a friend’s friend, a Veteran’s Veteran, and a brother’s brother (both blood and thicker than blood ones). Tim will forever be remembered as someone you could count on; he would do anything for anyone. His smile and loud, boisterous laugh would light up a room. You could always spot Tim in a crowd by simply looking for his civilian uniform; an American flag shirt, Navy and/or Veteran hat, and some sort of Razorback paraphernalia complimenting his attire. For fun, he loved to fish and cheer on his Razorbacks. He was a huge fan and loyally called the Hogs his entire life (woo pig!). Tim was a proud graduate of NLR Ole Main High School and loved the class of 1983. Tim always enjoyed spending time with Cathy Beach, his good friend and roommate.

Those who remain and celebrate his life are his daughters Jennifer Denny (Jake) of Little Rock, Meghan Denny (Tiffany) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Kenzie, Finley, and Freya; brothers Norman Denny of Sherwood; Phillip Denny of Sherwood; Wesley Pollnow (Marti) of South Carolina; nieces & nephews, Christopher Denny of Little Rock; Sara Bearden (Cody) of Cabot; Dru Denny (Maddie) of Fort Worth-Texas; Erica Denny (Robbie) of Jacksonville; and Angelina Denny of Sherwood.
