Thurman E. Fortson, 84, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, November 11, 2011. He was born October 10, 1927 in Olmstead, Arkansas to the late Fulton F. and Gladys Corine Henderson Fortson. He was of the Baptist faith and worked for Roach Paper Company for 31 years as a driver, shipping clerk and warehouse manager, where he retired. He loved farming, cattle ranching and bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy (Price) Fortson, of Jacksonville; son, Steve Fortson and his wife, Diane of Sherwood; grandchild, Justin Fortson; and sister, Mary Kehr, of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his sister, Louine Abbott.
