Thurman Richard Allen, age 90, of Bismarck died Friday, July 11, 2008. He was born August 27, 1917, at Point Cedar the son of Andy and Luella Phillips Allen. He was a dairy farmer, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Frances Lavonne Allen, and one stepson, Wendell Holt.

Survivors include his wife, Lannie Holt Allen, 2 sons, Jerry Allen and his wife, Carla, and Terry Allen, all of Bismarck; 3 daughters, Hilda Ochoa and husband, Benito, of Texarkana, Evon Teague and DeWana Sharp and husband, Frank, all of Bismarck; 2 step daughters, Wanda Richerson and husband, Dean, of Bismarck, Carolyn Welch and husband, John, of Crossett; one step daughter-in-law Sue Holt of El Dorado; 6 grandchildren, Katrina Allen of Sheridan, Tracy Allen of Hot Springs, and Jeremy Allen, Tasha Allen, Trent Allen, and Drew Adcock all of Bismarck; 3 great-grandchildren, Lane Allen, Brody Allen and Ty Allen Ventress all of Bismarck; and a number of step-grandchildren which he loved.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.Van Glidwell and Bro. Robert Cossey officiating. Burial will be in the New Bismarck Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bismarck Cemetery Fund or the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund.
