Thomas S. Stone, 82, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on January 16, 2025. Born January 14, 1943, to Ora and Sherman Stone, Tom was a man of humor, love, and devotion who lived a life centered on his family, service, and the simple joys of laughter and dancing with his beloved wife.
Tom attended Pine Bluff High School, where he met his future wife and lifelong dance partner, Cynthia Railsback. Their love blossomed into 59 years of marriage, filled with joy and a bond that only grew stronger with time. Cynthia was his favorite person in the world, and together, they created countless memories.
After high school, Tom pursued his education at the University of Arkansas and later graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School. Tom spent more than 50 years practicing law. His sense of duty led him to serve in the United States Navy, where he was stationed aboard the USS Canberra and USS Long Beach during the Vietnam Conflict.
Tom and Cynthia raised three daughters, who were the pride of their lives: Analise Jernigan (Mark), Laura Stone, and Erin Latsha (Roger). Tom adored his four grandsons: Blake (Alyssa), Kevin, Taylor, and Tucker, and relished his role as their Poppy.
Tom was known for his wicked sense of humor and his ability to find joy in every moment. His laughter was infectious, and his stories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Sherman Stone; his older brother, John Stone; his daughter, Analise Jernigan; his son-in-law, Mark Jernigan; his brothers-in-law Fred Cooper and Joel Railsback; his mother-in-law, Virginia Railsback; and his beloved wife, Cynthia.
He is survived by his daughters Erin Latsha (Roger) and Laura Stone; his sisters-in-law Jennie Cooper and Kay Stone; and many cherished extended family members and friends.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Todd and Laura Wooten for their steadfast friendship and love for Tom over the years.
Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Cooper, Seth Cooper, Todd Wooten, Lee Latsha, and Greg Latsha. All of whom had a special place in Tom’s life.
A visitation service will celebrate Tom’s remarkable life on Saturday January 25, 2025 from 2-4 pm.
Tom’s legacy of love, humor, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He is now reunited with Cynthia, dancing together once again.
