Thomas Edgar "Eddie" Phillips, 97, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017. He was born October 22, 1919 in De Soto, Missouri to Clarence and Bessie Madden Phillips. He served as a SSgt. in the United States Army during World War II. Eddie retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 40 years of service. He was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Rose City.
Eddie is survived by his son, Jim Phillips (Donna); daughter, Pat White (Bill); four grandchildren, Thomas Phillips (Diana), Erin Peterson (Bryan), Kerri Walker (Ced) and Kasey Schluterman (Jacob); eight great-grandchildren; and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet A. Phillips and five siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11th, 2017 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Burial will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
