Thomas Gerald “Jerry” Noggle, 83, died on December 10, 2021. Jerry was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Dr. W.N. Roark and Mittie Wood of Hermitage, AR, his paternal grandparents, John Henry Noggle and Una Harlan of Conway, AR, and his parents, Elbert Noggle and Vada Roark Noggle. His loving wife, Bonnie, survives him; also, sons, Dr. Scott Noggle (Laura) and granddaughter, Rose, of New York City and Mark Noggle (Melody) and granddaughter, Cameron, of McRae, AR; Jerry’s brother, Michael O Noggle (Virginia) of Richmond, VA and his sons, David and Jonathan and daughter, Stephanie Montgomery; and numerous loved nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout Arkansas and the U.S.
Jerry was born in Holdenville, OK on Sept. 9, 1938, spent his early childhood in Wardell, MO and was a proud member of the Hayti, MO High School Class of 1956. Jerry was a graduate Civil Engineer from the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla, MO (now known as Missouri School of Science and Technology) in 1961. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. Jerry served as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Belvoir, VA and Fort Leonard Wood, MO from 1961 to 1962, joined the 489th Combat Engineers, Company C, Reserves in Little Rock in 1963 and was promoted to 1st Lt. He came home to Arkansas to be close to family and work on the construction of the Arkansas River Navigation System, and later its operation and maintenance. He became a registered Professional Engineer in 1966 and was a member of the American Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of American Military Engineers. In 1983 he was awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service award and in 2003 he retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with 42 years of service.
Afterwards and in between, Jerry and Bonnie fished for bass and crappie at every opportunity and were avid bowlers. Jerry and Bonnie were charter members of Christ Lutheran Church and School in Little Rock.
A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Christ Little Rock at 315 South Hughes Street. Family encourages masks be worn at the service.
