Thomas Mickel

Thomas Wesley Mickel, 58, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 1, 2018. Tom was born in Conway, Arkansas, November 20, 1960. He earned both his undergraduate in business and juris doctoral from the University of Arkansas. Tom owned Mickel and Chapman law office in Conway. Tom was a loving husband and devoted father. Tom led a life of service by advocating for his clients and serving on the Conway Housing Authority and former Conway Park boards. He most recently served as president of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni Advisory board.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Argus Delbert Mickel and Gladys Julia (Potts) Mickel and his brother, A. Delbert Mickel, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Ashley Mickel; his sons, Thomas Westbrook (Brooks) and Alexander Pierce Mickel all of Conway; his sister-in-law Debbie Mickel of Little Rock; his nephews, Jefferson Davis Mickel (Cassandra) and Argus Wesley Mickel (Mary) of Austin, Texas; and two great-nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sue Tsuda and her staff for the care and compassion provided over the last four years as well as Hospice Home Care.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at First United Methodist Church, 1610 Prince Street, in Conway at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to ACPMP Appendix Cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Research Foundation, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Humane Society of Faulkner County.
