Thomas H. "Tom" Burnett, 83, of North Little Rock, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 13, 2009. He was born August 30, 1926 in Little Rock to the late Thomas E. and Letah L. Burnett. Tom was the owner of Burnett Floor and Tile Company for 39 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church and a 33 year member of Simpson Deer Club.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Daryl and Cynthia Burnett, Dale and Becky Burnett and Dan Burnett all of North Little Rock; sister, Opie Holmes of Loveland, Colorado; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette Burnett.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arkansas Cancer Research Center, UAMS, 4301 West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sylvania Cemetery, Cabot. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
