Theodore Joseph (Ted) Bruich, Jr., 76, of North Little Rock, passed away July 17, 2008, surrounded by his family. He was born August 15, 1931, in Conway to Theodore Joseph and Hedwig Lachowsky Bruich. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School and from Arkansas State Teachers College (now University of Central Arkansas) in Conway in 1953 with a B.S. Education degree. He served in the United States Army for two years and the Arkansas National Guard for three years. After moving to Little Rock in the mid-1950s, he married his beloved wife of 50 years, Carolyn Oswald Bruich, and settled in North Little Rock to raise his family. He started a career with the newly formed Division of Legislative Audit for the State of Arkansas in 1958 and retired in 1987 as a Deputy Legislative Auditor.
He was a devout Roman Catholic throughout his entire life and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Most recently he was a member of the St. John the Baptist Latin Community in North Little Rock.
His energy, stamina, strength of will, and genuine friendliness were his trademarks in every facet of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Oswald Bruich, and three children, J. Gregory (and Carolyn) Bruich of Woodway, Texas, Rebecca Bruich (and Lloyd) Loux of North Little Rock, and T. Philip (and Christi) Bruich, also of North Little Rock. His son, Mark Edward Bruich, preceded him in death. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Rachel Loux and Geoffrey Loux of North Little Rock; Catherine Bruich of Coppell, Texas, and Genevieve Bruich, Madeleine Bruich, Martin Bruich and Bernadette Bruich, all of Woodway, Texas. Two sisters, Albertine Moix and Mildred Arendall of Conway, also survive him. His sister, Dorothy Gwatney, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at North Little Rock Funeral Home.
A funeral Mass in the Latin rite will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in North Little Rock, with Fr. Terrence Gordon, F.S.S.P., presiding.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock.
