Thelma Trout

Thelma L. Conant Trout, age 81, of Bismarck, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in Arkadelphia. She was born December 24, 1931 to the late E. N. and Annie Lee Smith Conant. She graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1952 and Ouachita Baptist University in 1957.

Thelma taught public schools for fourteen years, taught at a Christian school for five years and was curriculum coordinator for pre-school and after school programs for a daycare center.

She married Rev. Ollie J. Trout on June 17, 1955. For over sixty years, she faithfully supported and worked along side her husband in the ministry and mission work. They served churches and mission work in Arkansas, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church near Gurdon, where she and her husband have served for over ten years. She touched many lives in a positive way with her quiet, sweet spirit.

Survivors are her husband, Ollie J. Trout; two daughters, Pamela D. Hurley of Avon, Indiana, Anita A. Douglas and husband, Scott of Rollins, Michigan; three grandchildren, Nicole Bissell of Kincheloe, Michigan, Derek Douglas of Rollins, Michigan and Jennifer Hurley of Avon, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Hunter and Isabella Bissell all of Kincheloe, Michigan; two brothers, Ross Conant, Lloyd Conant and wife, Frieda; one sister, Velma Marie Seale and husband, James all of Arkadelphia; her mother-in-law, Eula L. Webb of Bismarck and brother-in-law, William K. Trout of Texas City, Texas.

Services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, February 1, 2016 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Rev. Joe Burt and Rev. Terry Coleman officiating. Interment will be in Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
