Thelma Mearie Martin, 63, of Benton, AR passed away December 8, 2014. She was born on May 17, 1951 in Camden, AR to the late Homer Jefferson and Venitta Pierce, Sr.
Thelma loved to go camping and fishing with her family. Vacations to Branson and other destinations were her favorite times of the year. She spent most of her Friday and Saturday evenings at the I-30 Races and was a huge Nascar fan. Thelma enjoyed collecting angels. She was a member of Benton Four Square Church.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Homer Pierce, Jr.; sister, Lillian Burrow and her husband Buryman Burrow; daughter, Iva Marie Barnett; and grandson, Royce Southerland, Jr.
Thelma is survived by 2 sisters, Eva Neal and husband Sam of Alexander, AR, Linda Higgins and Arlie Blair of Traskwood, AR; sister-in-law, Brenda Pierce of Haskell, AR; grandchildren, James and Jessica Southerland; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other family members and friends who loved Thelma and will miss her always.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014, 10:00 A.M., Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR 72015.
