Thelma Jean Love, 71, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas passed away January 26, 2019. She was born December 4, 1947 in Scott, Arkansas to the late Clyde and Mildred (Davidson) Crabtrey.
Thelma was of the Lutheran faith. She was a wonderful mother and wife and loved her family more than anything. Thelma enjoyed opening her home to her family and her children's friends. She would move picnic tables in to make room for everyone to eat dinner and always made enough food for everyone to take leftovers home. "She could cook like no one else!" Thelma had a huge, three-acre garden which included potato house, chicken house, and every imaginable vegetable. She canned the harvest from her gardening and collected eggs, and milked cows every day. Thelma enjoyed fishing and hosting deer camp at her home. Thelma was not afraid of hard work and lived each day to its fullest.
Preceding Thelma in death are her parents; foster mother, Florence Parker; two brothers: Jody Crabtrey and Donald Crabtrey; and sister, Ann Gilbert.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 31 ½ years, Brian Love of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; daughters: Ada Aiken and husband John of Benton and April Meridith and husband Michael of Grapevine, Arkansas; son, Joseph Leslie of Benton, Arkansas; grandchildren: Brandon Meridith, Dustin Meridith, Justin McElyea, Corey Aiken, Cody Aiken, Jessica Aiken, Joseph Cody Leslie, Annekah Gills, Hannah Gills, Larry Don Pierce, and Landon Gills; nine great-grandchildren; ten brothers and sisters: Alfred Crabtrey and wife Eleanor, Elbert Crabtrey, Ernest Crabtrey and wife Marilyn, James David Crabtrey, David Collins and wife Cheryl, Benny Crabtrey and wife Carolyn, Vivian Lorene Bryant, Linda Gilbert, and Becky Smith and husband Bill; many nieces and nephews; family members and friends who love Thelma and will miss her always.
Funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jeff Langley, will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 1, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas with reception visitation held one hour prior to service.
