Thelma Jean Grimmett, 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. She was born April 10, 1926 in Little Rock to Lee and Nell Linder Proctor. She was the postmaster at Ferndale for 30 years, a member of the Ferndale Extension Club, and a member of the Highland Valley United Methodist Church's Sunday School Class and a long time member of the Choir.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, William O. Grimmett; daughter, Jan Steeger (Tom); sons, Ted Grimmett (Rhetta) and Patrick Grimmett (LeeAnn); and grandchildren, Jeff Grimmett, Sally Anderson, Miller Grimmett, Charlie Grimmett, Patrick Steeger and Daniel Steeger. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Melba Proctor.
Visitation will be this evening, Wednesday, May 2, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, at Highland Valley United Methodist Church, 15524 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, officiated by Dr. Kurt Boggan and Rev. Brock Patterson. Burial will be private at Spring Valley Cemetery.
