Terry Louis Otter, a beloved dog trainer, passed away on February 5, 2024, at his residence. Born on May 23, 1962, in Beaufort, South Carolina, Terry had a genuine love for animals and dreamed of owning an animal rescue shelter.
Throughout his life, Terry made a significant impact through his career as a dog trainer. His dedication and passion in working with animals were truly admirable. Terry's expertise brought joy and companionship to many families as he helped them train their canine companions. He had a special ability to understand and communicate with dogs, creating strong bonds between them and their owners.
Besides his professional achievements, Terry was widely known for his warm personality and love for the outdoors. He found solace in spending time hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and found true serenity in picturesque West Mountain in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Nature was not just a backdrop for Terry; it was a place where he felt most alive.
One of Terry's proudest accomplishments was sharing the teachings of Christ and leading others to salvation. He combined his artistic talents with his faith by creating beautiful drawings adorned with scriptures and sharing them on the internet. Through this medium, Terry touched the lives of countless individual by spreading messages of hope, love, and spiritual enlightenment.
Terry was preceded in death by son, Walter Ammons; and parents, Clarence E. Otter and Angel Elizabeth Day.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Marilyn Otter of Mabelvale, Arkansas; daughter Heather Harper of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren Gavin, Aubrie, Callie, Nicholas, Wesley, Matthew, Braxton, Lauren, and Abigail; great-grandson Johnny; brother Troy Otter of Chicago Illinois; along with numerous other family members and friends. Their presence in Terry's life brought him immeasurable joy and happiness.
Terry Louis Otter will forever be remembered for his unwavering devotion to animals, his love for the great outdoors, and his passion for sharing his faith. He touched the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving behind cherished memories that will be treasured for years to come. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the rich and meaningful life he lived—a life that brought joy and inspiration to all who knew him.
