T. C. "Jack" Kirksey

T. C. "Jack" Kirksey, age 99, of Amity, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. He was born on October 5, 1920 in the Fendley community of Clark County, the son of Tom Beasley Kirksey and Elizabeth Deaton Kirksey. On June 5, 1945, he was married to Evelyn Jean Hays Kirksey who preceded him in death on September 3, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Darby; his brother, Leonard Kirksey; and three sisters, Ann Marable, Amy Thomason and Stella Lookadoo. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, he taught agriculture at Amity High School for over 45 years. Mr. Kirksey was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a former member of the Amity School Board and Clark County Farm Bureau. He always enjoyed farming and loved being with his family. He is survived by two grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Dee Sirmon and Katrina and David Grider, all of Amity; five great-grandchildren, Madison Sirmon, Easton Sirmon, Klint Yarbrough, Khiley Yarbrough and Makenzie Grider; his great-great-grandson, Kayson Yarbrough; his sister, Lois Barksdale of Amity; a special friend, Nancy Carroll of Amity; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 30, 2019, in the Amity United Methodist Church with Bro. Glen Harris and Bro. John McAnally officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force. Visitation will be Friday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Dale Richardson, Curt Hays, Mark Scrivner, Tony Adams, Clint Scrivner and Brian Kirksey. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Francis and Troy Buck.
