Sylvia Lillian Buckner Flowers “In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” – John 14:2. Our Lord, welcomed Sylvia Lillian Flowers home on May 10, 2014, at the age of 90 years old. Sylvia was a retired Southern Baptist Preacher’s wife, who spent a lifetime enjoying service in God’s name through many aspects. As a former member of the Nailbenders for Jesus, building churches throughout Arkansas, her love of cooking fed many hungry workers. Her compassion to help others continued as a Foster Grandparent and Cradle Care, serving as a role model, mentor and friend. 1 Peter 4:10, tells us “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms”. Grandma, job well done! Survived by her son William Earl Flowers, 5 grandchildren; John and wife Deborah Flowers, Sheila and husband Brad Olps, Earl Flowers, Donald Sturch and Regina Sturch; 8 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and her beloved niece Marie Richardson, along with numerous family. She is preceded in death by her patiently waiting husband Reverend Robert William Flowers, two children Jimmy and Bobby, her mother Thelma Sherrod, three siblings Ella Mable Simmons, Helen Dutton and Chester Ray Buckner. She was a member of Harlan Park Baptist Church, in Conway. Visitation Friday, May 16 from 6-8 pm. Going Home celebration at Griffin Leggett-Conway Funeral Home Saturday, May 17th at 10:00 am.
