Sylvester Ray "Vester" Harris

Sylvester Ray "Vester" Harris, age 64, of Amity, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 25, 2016. He was born on April 1, 1952 in McCaskill, Arkansas, the son of Harlious Harris and Ethel Garner Harris. He loved being outdoors; mowing and taking care of lawns and especially, playing with grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Fagan Harris of Amity; two sons, Raymond Anthony (Amber) Harris of Alabama and Brian (Robbi) Harris of Amity; two daughters, Donna Kay Wootten of Hot Springs and Tina (Jesse) Godwin of Hot Springs Village; twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren with three more on the way; his brother, Richard Harris of Amity; three sisters, Betty Lunsford of Pine Bluff, Sue Emerton and Norma Sorrells, both of Amity; and other extended family. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Franklin, Kaz Hitt, Johnny Fagan, Gary Lathrop, Kevin Sorrells, Charlie Wootten and David Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert McCrary, Dr. James Campbell, Dr. Neeraj Bharany and the nurses and staff of National Park Medical Center. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
