Syble Kirkland Breckenridge Glover was born in El Paso on September 16, 1934 to the late Albert and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Kirkland. She passed away peacefully at her home on June 9, 2021. Syble was a member of Oak Church of Christ and was baptized at a young age.
She was a 1952 graduate of Beebe High School. Soon after graduating, she moved with her lifelong friend, Wilma Dean, to Little Rock for a short period of time. Syble married her first love, Hollie Breckenridge and became a dairy farmer’s wife where they lived for many years. Together, she and Hollie raised three children Karen, Keith and LaBeth. As a couple, they shared a love for the Razorbacks and attended many sporting events with family and friends. She was active in the El Paso Community as an EH Club member, and volunteer for the El Paso 4-H club. It cannot go without being mentioned that Syble was known for her famous no bake cookies. Everyone in El Paso knew what a treasure these were.
She worked in retail at Walmart and JC Penney, until her husband became ill. She was his caregiver until his passing in 1989. She then returned to work for several more years. It was at this time that she met her second love, Wayne Glover. The story is told that Wayne purchased many socks and ties at JC Penney trying to win her over. After a lot of money was spent by Wayne, they wed in 2000. They enjoyed their senior years together, traveling and visiting family in Florida until his passing in 2013. A breast cancer survivor, Syble participated in Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure with her daughters and granddaughters until she was physically unable.
She is survived by her children Karen Harrell (Rick), Keith Breckenridge (Carol), LaBeth Boroughs (Pat), Larry Glover (Lizette), Nita Hardke (David).
She is also survived by her grandchildren Steven Fisher (Michelle), Kim MacConaugha (Robert), Taylor Kirby (Micheal), Shuyler Hipp (Casey), Chloe Ruple (Tanner), Derrick Boroughs, Drake Boroughs, Heather Loyd, Kristi Millard (Will), Natalie Glover (Dallas).
She was also a great grandmother to Hannah, Logan, Luke, Alison, Mia, Alivia, Addison, Peyton, Mya, Aniyah, Brinlee, and Jaxton.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, LaVelle Harris, and a nephew, Joel Harris.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Mother’s personal caregiver, Betty Beck and the staff of Hospice Home Care.
