Sybil Lee Jones Sims, 83, of Benton, Arkansas passed away November 8, 2016. She was born June 19, 1933 in Vilonia, Arkansas to the late Jodie and Ada Bernard Jones.
Sybil retired as an executive assistant at Alcoa. She was a member of the Arkansas Women's Democratic Association. Sybil and her husband, Joe, loved to travel all over the world. They often went on church bus trips to Israel, Egypt, and other countries.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Joe Sims; parents; and sister, Gladys Simpson.
Sybil leaves to cherish her memories son, Ralph Sims and wife Brenda of Benton, Arkansas; daughter, Suzie Hightower of Heber Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Michael Sims and Brian Sims and wife Belinda; great-grandchildren, Colton, Kaylynn, Evan, and Adam Sims; brother, Joe Jones and wife Martha of Sardis, Arkansas; and many more family members and friends who loved Sybil and will miss her always.
Reception visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM, Friday, November 11, 2016 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Funeral service, officiated by Bro. Clyde Shenault, will follow at 3:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery with Ralph Sims, Michael Sims, Brian Sims, Colton Sims, Evan Sims, and Adam Sims serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, family has requested memorials to be made to the Gideon's Memorial Bible Plan, http://gideons.planmylegacy.org/memorials-and-tribute-gifts.
