Suzanne Lorainne Byrd McCray, 64, of Benton, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018. She was born on February 3, 1954 in Sumpter, South Carolina to the late Floyd and Barbara Byrd.
Suzanne was a loving wife, mother, sister, Nana, friend, and child of God. She was a dedicated homemaker who was loyal and devoted to her family and friends. She worked as a volunteer at the Christian Community Care Clinic, the Benton Early Voting Center, and served on the bereavement committees at Agape Church of Little Rock and First Baptist Church of Benton. She was known for her warm, gentle heart; inner and outward beauty; and infectious smile. She loved reading the word of God, praying for others, physical fitness, and spending time with the ones she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack McCray. Loving survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Fritz (Scott) and Tara Bennett (Matt); her brother, Stephen Byrd (Clarice); granddaughters, Hannah-Grace and Abby Fritz, Kloe Bennett; niece, Stephanie Lyssy; and a host of special friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 27 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Happy Caldwell, will be held Friday, December 28 at 11:00 AM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park following immediately.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Saline Memorial Hospice of Bryant, Arkansas for their thoughtfulness and loving care during her last month of life.
