Susan Dean

January 16, 1957 — October 1, 2021

Susan Dean

Susan Gayle Dean, 64, of Benton, Arkansas passed away October 1, 2021.  She was born January 16, 1957 in Benton to Rachel (Rhoads) Ettling and the late James L. Bacon.

Susan loved helping others. She worked as a nurse for over 40 years and was the caretaker and peace maker of the family.  She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family.  Susan was fiercely independent and strong, living life on her terms.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed taking long drives and road trips. She also enjoyed movies, especially John Wayne movies and old musicals. Quiet and unassuming, Susan did not like to talk about herself. She was much more interested in the people around her, and she had a way of making everyone she spoke to feel special.

Preceding Susan in death are her father, James L. Bacon; and sister, Cathy Rogers.

Susan leaves behind to cherish her memory her children:  Brandi Muradian and husband Keree of Haskell, Arkansas and Aaron Dean of Conway, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jacob Muradian and Colby Dean; mother, Rachel Ettling; siblings:  Richard Weatter and wife Sue of Alexander, Arkansas, Don Duncan of Utah, and Pam Ellis of Little Rock, Arkansas; and many family members and friends who loved Susan and will miss her always.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 7, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.

The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Health Medical Center – Conway for the wonderful care they provided Susan.
