Sue Mertens
Nora Sue Mertens age 76, of Arkadelphia died Saturday, July 15, 2006 in Little Rock. She was born September 28, 1929 in De Valls Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Thomas Troy and Cora Bell Bartels House. Mrs. Mertens was a retired service reprensentative for Southwestern Bell and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, George Mertens, one son, George Thomas Mertens of Kathleen, Georgia; one daughter Jo Beth Mertens of Canandaigua, New York; two grandchildren, Dillon Mertens of Kathleen, Georgia and Noah Mertens Page of Canadaigua, New York.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the First Baptist Church with Will Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be the Berean Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Arkadelphia First Baptist Church.
