Sudie Mae (Blount) Pannell, 90, of Searcy, Arkansas, was born February 11, 1921, at Garner, Arkansas, to Eugene and Ethel (Austin) Blount, and she died Tuesday, October 25, 2011. She was a devout member of Garner Missionary Baptist Church. She and her husband were long-time owners of K. B. Pannell General Mercantile. Sudie loved to cook and was famous for her coconut pie.
She is survived by her daughter, Margie L. Jones (Joe Merle) of Searcy; grandchildren Jody Jones and Tony Jones, both of Searcy, Kim Galloway (David) of Garner and Jackie Fox Jones of McRae; great-grandchildren Joey Jones (Amanda), Sara Titsworth (Chris), Josh Galloway, Emily Galloway and Blake Jones; great-great-grandchildren, Jacelyn Jones, Jace Romine, Jaden Jones, Hollis Titsworth and Camryn Titsworth; her sister, Eularuel Dubose of Higden; brother, Cloyce Blount of Gosnell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, K. B. Pannell; sister, Oretha Paris; and brother, Robert Blount.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Garner Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Garner Cemetery.
