Steven “Steve” Elkins

Steven DeWayne Elkins, 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 30, 2019. He was born on September 19, 1958 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Burl and Margie Elkins, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Cindy Elkins, daughter Chloe Elkins, and daughter Linzy Elkins Elliott and her husband Cole Elliott. Steve’s family was his pride and joy. It didn’t matter what he was doing as long as he was doing it with his family. He could either light up a room with his laugh or he was determined to make you laugh. Steve was also an avid basketball fan. Whether it was a good game on TV,  coaching his girls, or watching his girls play basketball, he was all about it. There are countless lives he’s touched coaching girls basketball and he loved them like his own daughters. Steve’s second love besides his family was the Burl Elkins Upholstery shop. Steve and Burl were two peas in a pod. If you entered the upholstery shop you felt nothing but love, and you left with an even better sofa. In whatever way you knew Steve, there is no doubt he changed your life for the better. He was willing to do anything to help someone, no matter how big or how small. He was giving and selfless with every thing he had. He talked to the Lord often, and relied on Him, His grace, and His provision every day. Steve will be missed, but he will also be celebrated, honored, and cherished in all the ways that he’s impacted and touched so many lives.

We couldn’t be more thankful to have had such an incredible dad, husband, and friend. We would love for everyone to contribute stories or memories that you would like to share on this page. These are the memories that will carry us through the darkest of days.” Visitation will be held at Smith-North Little Rock funeral home Sunday, November 3, from 5-7pm, and funeral services will be held Monday, November 4 at Graves Memorial Baptist church at 2pm.
