Steven Jerome Pierson, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force passed away on July 18, 2023 after a long battle with lung cancer.
The son of Harrold and Patricia Pierson, Steven was born Sept 27, 1954 in New Haven, CT, and attended Steven’s High School in Claremont New Hampshire.
At the age of 19, Steven enlisted in the Air Force. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Senior Airman. As part of this service, he served multiple tours in the Pacific Theater of Operations including the Philippines, Japan, and Korea.
Steven’s military education includes Basic Military Training School, United States Air Force Supervisors Course, NCO Orientation Course, Cargo Rail Systems Course, Aircraft Maintenance Technician Course, and NCO Leadership Course.
Steven’s military awards include the Air Force Good Conduct Medal (2OLC), Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.
Steven was a faithful church member and volunteered much of his personal time supporting the church family. He brightened any room he entered with a smile and a joke and was a positive influence on family and friends. His dedication to his family and community will be remembered as a lasting legacy.
Steven is survived by his lovely wife of 49 years Linda Pierson, his children, Steven Pierson, Tanya (Scott) Freeman, James (Sonja) Pierson, Charles (Susy) Pierson, his grandchildren William Freeman, Christopher, Meleena, Kyrsten, and Amiyia Pierson and his siblings Tina Searles and Terri Raymond.
A service honoring the life of Steven will be held on the 21st of July at 11:00 am at Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church, 9008 Hwy-107 Sherwood AR, 72120 with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, Linda is asking for charitable donations to Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute (CARTI).
