Steve D. Kelley age 66, of Delight, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 in Hot Springs. He was born September 29, 1952 to the late Harold Sampson and Erma Hughes Kelley. Steve graduated from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia.
Steve taught in the Emmett, Blevins and Delight School Systems. He was a minister serving at Pleasant Home Church of Christ for over thirty years. He was the Educator of the Year for Nevada County in 1992. Steve was an alderman for the City of Delight for fourteen years. He was the honorary Santa Claus in Delight for over twenty-five years.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman and master storyteller. He followed and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Kelley.
Survivors are his wife of forty-four years, Jackie Price Kelley; one daughter, Rachel Kelley of Arkadelphia; one sister, Sylvia Chudy of Conway; three nieces and four nephews.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM Saturday, September 14th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 15th at Pleasant Home Church of Christ with Rachel Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Delight Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David House, Joe House, Louie Bell, Lonnie VanCamp, Kelley Chudy and David Hodge. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Chudy, Mark Chudy, David Kelley and Russell Jackson.
