Sterling Workman

Sterling E. Workman Sr., 85, of Mabelvale passed from this life on June 1, 2020. He was born August 23, 1934 in Lepanto, Arkansas to the late Everett and Sylvia Sammons Workman. Sterling spent many years serving the people of his community at Forest Hills Memorial Park and then at Arkansas Memorial Gardens. His hobbies included hunting, football and basketball, but his greatest joy was found in his family, especially his grandchildren and his church, East Union Missionary Baptist Church in Hensley. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael D. Workman; siblings, Betty Dickson, Loretta James, Ralph Workman and Billie Jean Barkley.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Louise Workman; son, Sterling Workman Jr. (Jana) of Holiday Island; grandchildren, Spencer (Natalie) Workman, Daniel (Katie) Workman, Jessica (Caleb) Tenberge, and Alicia (Josh) Mizell. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Allie, Jenkins and Ford Tenberge, Zayne Cameron; brother, Ricky (Helen) Workman; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2020 at Forest Hills Memorial Park with Pastor Paul Roberts officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sterling's memory may be made to East Union Missionary Baptist Church, 20422 N Springlake Rd, Hensley, AR 72065.
