Stephen Ray Styers (Uncle Buck), 55, of No. Little Rock, surrounded by his loving family and friends, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2011 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Miami, Florida to Billy Ray Styers and Mary Ann Styers, graduating from Miami Norland Senior High School in 1974.
Preceded in death by his parents, Steve will forever be remembered by those who survive him, his twin sons, Ezekiel and Zachariah Styers; sister, Cheryl Hudmon; niece, Melissa Hudmon; nephew, Christopher Hudmon; aunt, Sue Mitchell; and grandniece, Molly Grace Hudmon-Beasley.
Steve was a devoted father, brother, and the original "Uncle Buck." He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. Steve was happiest when he was with his twin boys. Although the time he spent with them was short, he cherished every moment with them.
Steve not only had a talent for landscaping but also a passion; this is where he spent most of his time working. He also had a love for sports - he was an avid sports fanatic for football, especially the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami Hurricanes, baseball, softball, and NASCAR.
Steve was the most selfless person. He was always willing to help others. He never put himself first. There was not a day that went by that he wasn't asking about how his loved ones were doing and if there was anything he could do for them. He was a lively, amusing person who was the center of attention at any social gathering. Family and friends always enjoyed being around Steve and were continuously filled with joy and laughter when in his company.
Services will take place in Florida at a future date. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501)224-2200. Visit Steve's online guestbook at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
