Stephen Salazar

Stephen John Salazar, 60, of Benton, Arkansas passed away December 20, 2020.  He was born January 30, 1960 in Corpus Christi, Texas to John T. and Janet Salazar.

Stephen worked in the food industry for over thirty years, recently at Wal-Mart in Benton.  People would wait in line for Stephen to check them out, even when shorter lines were available.  Everyone loved Stephen and he was affectionately called “Uncle Steve”.   He enjoyed spending time outdoors golfing, tending to his flower gardens, and fishing.  Stephen was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, which is fitting as he was born the day the Dallas Cowboys were established. Stephen also enjoyed bowling and sketching.

Preceding Stephen in death are his paternal grandparents, Juan and Pauline Salazar; maternal grandmother, Lilly Harrison; and mother-in-law, Linda Dempsey and her husband Kenny.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of forty years, Pamala Salazar of Benton, Arkansas; son, Jaron Salazar; parents, John and Janet Salazar; brothers:  Jimmy Salazar and wife Amy, Andy Salazar and wife Sarah, Joey Salazar, and Quinton Salazar; sister, Jeanette Young and husband Mike; father-in-law, Robert Berry and his wife Janet; many nieces, nephews, family members and friends who love Stephen and will miss him always.
