Stephen Daniel Barton

Stephen Daniel Barton of North Little Rock died September 26, 2022 at the age of 55.  He was born on May 9, 1967 to the late Gary Edwin Barton and his surviving mother, Suzie Alexander Holmes.

Stephen is also survived by his three daughters, Haley Barton, Jessica Donahue and Danielle Westbrook; a sister, Xann Barton Henry; a niece, Alex Henry; his partner of 17 years, Sara Williams; one beloved grandson, Holden Alexander Stivers and a host of other family and friends.

From a young age, Stephen was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time at the family’s cabin on Lake Conway.

In addition, he enjoyed a variety of other hobbies. He played guitar and could sing like his favorite artist, Willie Nelson. He rode motorcycles, raced go-carts and showed horses. He had the ability to build and repair anything. His most prized possession was his 1976 Volkswagen Beetle that he built using salvaged parts.

Stephen was a member of the Army National Guard and worked as a Little Rock firefighter and EMT. Later in life, he embraced his love for the ocean and spent a considerable amount of time on Crystal Beach in Galveston, Texas where he began welding.

Memorials can be made to Hospice Homecare at 2200 South Bowman Road in Little Rock. The family appreciates the love and compassion both the UAMS and hospice staff showed Stephen during his final days.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.
