Stephen "Scotty" Ashley

Stephen “Scotty” Ashley, 61, of Bismarck, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home.

He was born November 3, 1961, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Buster Ashley and Patsy Ruth Henderson Ashley.

Scotty was a member of Bismarck Missionary Baptist Church.  He was also a proud papa and an avid Razorback fan.

His favorite times in life were spending time with his grandchildren.  He also adored his two dogs: Gracie and Ellie.  He had a one-of-a-kind laugh that his family loved. 

Scotty enjoyed spending time with his church family.  He worked with Wintransport, a career that gave him the opportunity to pray every morning over CB radio with his co-workers. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Ashley; his sister, Linda Gail Ashley and his nephew, Nicholas Hathcock.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of thirty-eight years: Candy Renee Smith Ashley; his daughters: Lacey (Tim) Nock of Bossier City, Louisiana and Whitney (Dusty) McCoy of Bismarck; his father: Buster (Bessie) Ashley of Bismarck; his brother: Buddy (Sherry) Ashley of Bismarck; his nephew: Chad Ashley of Bismarck and his grandchildren: Bryston McCoy, Carson Hood, Kree Nock, Ava McCoy, Maverick Nock and Oaklee Nock.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Scotty’s funeral service will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Bismarck Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jarrod Cansler officiating.

Burial will follow at New Bismarck Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Matlock, Ronnie Smith, Doug Davis, Eric Fain, Michael Parker and Sam Gill.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryston McCoy, Carson Hood, Maverick Nock, Dusty McCoy and Tim Nock.
