Stella Womack

Stella Irene Brockinton Womack, 84, of Shreveport, Louisiana, went home with Jesus on Friday, February 12, 2010. She was born November 3, 1925 in Faulkner County, Arkansas, raised in Little Rock and moved to Shreveport after marriage to William H. Womack of Conway, Arkansas. She worked for and retired from, Stage (formerly Beall's) Department Store with 37 years service. Stella was a graduate of North Little Rock High School. She loved Jesus and was a loyal member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church for 51 years. She was a beautiful, quiet, sensitive, practical, and frugal soul who sacrificed everything for her children and enjoyed simple pleasures like loving her children and grandchildren, walking, birds, flowers, playing dominoes, and eating a Snickers or Nutty Bar. Her life verse was Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His Purpose".
Heartbroken by her absence but rejoicing that she's in heaven reunited with loved ones are, beloved daughters, Debra Johnson of Tyler, Texas, Donna Womack of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters, Kimberly Haley of Leander, Texas, Catherine Tully of Madisonville, Louisiana, Christianne Leach, and Marin Portacci of Tyler, Texas; great-grandchildren, Camryn and Kendall Haley, Sean Patrick and Killian Tully; brother, Melvin Noble Brockinton of Sherwood; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Bruce and Arra Lee Mitchell Brockinton; brothers, Lyle Stanley" Bill" Brockinton, Virgil Roy "Jack" Brockinton, Clarence Earl "Coot" Brockinton , and Wilber Dennis Brockinton.
The family would like to express appreciation to Stella's wonderful neighbors and Church Family in Shreveport, the friends she made in Tyler, Dr. Michael Ashigbi and the 4th floor staff of Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, and The Hospice of East Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
