Stanley Claborn Carmack, age 67, of Mountain Pine, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020.
He was born on December 4, 1952 in Oden, the son of Ocus Claborn Carmack and Jo Ellen Aylor Carmack. On July 14, 1972, he married LaDane Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his sons, Stanley Clayton Carmack and Bradley Scott Carmack; and his father.
Stanley was a 1970 graduate of Oden High School and a United States Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of the Gum Springs Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked as a kiln operator at Bean Lumber Company for over thirteen years and managed the Crackerbox on Albert Pike for over ten years. He loved his family, but adored his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, LaDane Carmack; his daughter, Lora Wilhite; his grandchildren, Kaitlynne, Connor and Cassidy Wilhite and Cody Lambert; his great-granddaughter, Evangeline Lambert, all of Mountain Pine; his mother, Jo Ellen Carmack of Mount Ida; his brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Alice Carmack, Bruce and Debra Carmack, Keith and Patti Carmack, all of Oden and Kevin and Sharon Carmack of Mount Ida; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Omer Stapp of Black Springs and Mary and Jim Cox of Mount Ida; twenty-one nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Fred Hunter officiating and Bro. Jeff Ladd as guest speaker. Military honors will be presented by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 100 persons at any one time in the funeral home chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times when inside the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Lambert, Matthew Wilhite, Tom Smits and the staff of Dierksen Hospice.
