Shirley Whittemore

Shirley (Bostian) Whittemore, a resident of Warrensburg, MO. died on February 21, 2014.
Born near England Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Don T. Bostian and Ida S. Skipper Bostian.
On June 8, 1946, she married George O. Whittemore. She graduated from Plum Bayou High School in 1944. She is survived by one brother, Ray Don Bostian and wife Martha of Hope AR, two daughters, Glenda Sherman of Fredericksburg, VA and husband Joe, Vivian Richardson of Warrensburg MO. and husband David. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lisa Ball of Culpepper, VA, Karl Sherman of Nashville, TN, Kevin Sherman of Richmond, VA, Brian Richardson of Columbia, MO, and Eric Richardson of Bremerton, WA, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Cora Dalene Surratt and Muriel Dean Bradshaw.
After Mrs. Whittemore traveled with her husband for 27 years with the Military Service, they retired in North Little Rock AR. She was a member of the Levy Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School and a member of the WMU. She was a volunteer for the Baptist Health Medical Center North Little Rock. Shirley was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family, church and her many volunteer organizations, including her many church activities and as a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed bowling , crocheting and reading.
The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at the North Little Rock Funeral home in North Little Rock, AR.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 28, 2014 at the North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Rest Hills Cemetery in NLR.
