Shirley Ann Sloan

Shirley A. Sloan, age 87, of Hot Springs, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023. 

She was born on April 19, 1935, in Hot Springs, to James T. Orrell and Opal Sutton Orrell.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman V. Sloan; her daughter, Cheri A. Marlow; her brother, James T. Orrell; and sister, Emma Jean Norman. 

Shirley graduated from Hot Springs High School class of 1953.  She moved to Southern California, where she lived for forty years, before retiring back to Hot Springs.  She retired form banking in California and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Melody A. Jouse of Georgia; son-in-law, Tony L. Marlow of Hawaii; three grandchildren, Carly Cheri Jouse, Tara Lauren Durham and Cole John Runyon; three great-grandchildren, Dominik, Issak and Aria rose, all of Georgia; brother-in-law, Clovis Norman of Hot Springs; two nephews, Ted Orrell and Jimmy Norman; one niece, Cheryl Jackson; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00AM, Friday, March 3, 2023, in the Prince-Peace Lutheran Church.  Visitation 10:00AM, Friday, prior to the service.

Interment in the Lowe Cemetery.
