Shirley Ann Hunt was born July 14, 1946 at Little Rock, Arkansas to Charles A. and Mary Lou Pope and died at Arkansas Hospice at St. Vincent's Hospital May 20, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, James A. and Ora Pope, who raised her. She was of the Episcopal faith.
Shirley is survived by one son, Michael Hunt and his wife Charla; two grandsons, Nathan and Nelson Hunt, all of Maumelle, Arkansas; one sister, Diane Grissom Ragsdale of Dardanelle, Arkansas; and nieces Susan Sisson and Brandi Stockdale. She also leaves a special pet, Scarlet.
Shirley will always be remembered by Michael as a strong, encouraging, loving Mom. From the day he was born and throughout his formative years she reminded him and bragged to family and friends what a big, strong boy he was and that everything would turn out fine.
Shirley had an eye for good design and fine things. While she worked for Freddie's in the Heights and Randall Byars Interior Design, many customers sought her expertise for their purchases.
There will be a private family burial service. Arrangements by Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Rd., Little Rock. Online guestbook: www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
