Shirley Graves

Shirley Ann Johnston Graves, 78, of Little Rock, wife of John F. Graves, Sr., for 49 years, went to heaven Tuesday, September 1, 2015 on her birthday. She was a foster parent to many children and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, painting, dancing and camping with family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, John F. Graves, Sr., her son, Donald Graves and sisters, Mable Ward, Jeannie Cossey and her twin, Betty Oglesby. Her surviving children are John F. Graves, Jr. (Kay), Cynthia Gann (Mike), Tina Faulkner (Chuck), Bobby Graves, Russell Graves (Angie) and Mary Graves; two sisters, Freda Jarvis, and Sue Johnson; six grandchildren, Christy Eagon, Candace McCray, Stephanie Faulkner, Justin Burgess, Chance Hunter and Cara Neal; nine great-grandchildren; and special friend, Philip Roberts and countless more close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Natural Steps Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
