Shirley Ann Davidson

Shirley Ann Davidson, age 73, of Mount Ida, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015. She was born on April 9, 1941 at Goobertown, Arkansas, the daughter of George Shirley Johnston and Sylvia Valentine Tate Johnston. On May 9, 1959, she was married to William E. "Pete" Davidson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Ray Johnston. Shirley was a member of Faith Tabernacle and a retired radiology technician. In high school, she was very athletic and played several sports, including varsity basketball and volleyball. She enjoyed reading and her competitive spirit endured in her later years where she continued to enjoy playing cards and other games. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, William E. "Pete" Davidson of Mount Ida; her daughters and sons-in-law, Renee' and Butch Parks of Tampa, Florida and Tammy and Darryl Bostow of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Dana Bostow, Brandon Parks, Jessica Parks, Kristen Bostow and Trey Parks; her great-grandchild, Daniel Bostow; her sister and brother-in-law, Donna Jean and Jim Walker of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Faith Tabernacle at Mount Ida with Bro. Paul Burke officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at the church. Interment will be in Blish Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Butch Parks, Darryl Bostow, Brandon Parks, Trey Parks, Kenny Jones, Kevin Wilson and Donny Ellison.
