Sheryl Horn Welch

Sheryl Horn Welch, age 79, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023.

She was born on August 29, 1944, in Pike County, Arkansas, the daughter of Millard Reid and Ova Alford Reid.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Guy Gene Horn; her second husband, Tommy Welch; her parents; five brothers, Rudolph Reid, George Reid, Travis Reid, Glen Reid and Shelby Reid; and four sisters, Vinnis Parker, Martha Westfall, Rachel Moore and Yvonne Shipman.

Sheryl was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Glenwood, where she served as church clerk for many year.  She retired as the Manager of the Shelby Glove Factory after several years of employment. Sheryl was a wonderful wife, mother and Granny, and loved her family with all her heart.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Cassie Horn of Glenwood; three grandchildren, Caleb Horn, Austin Horn and Lacey Horn; two great-grandchildren, Jaylee and Christian; her brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Priscilla Reid of Kirby; her loving caregivers, Gary and Alvarene Welch of Dierks; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2024, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Keith Shewbart and Bro. Ron Parker officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday, 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, prior to the services in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.

Interment will be in the Hopper Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Turner, Jim Morphew, Eddie Herring, Joshua Welch, Ricky Godwin and David Fulgium.
