Sherry Cox, age 67, of Glenwood, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015. She was born on February 16, 1947 at Glenwood, the daughter of Omer Jester and Melvina Whisenhunt Jester. On November 27, 1963, she was married to Sonny Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Sam and Dicie Whisenhunt and Jodie and Beaulah Jester; her brother-in-law, Homer Knighten; and her daughter-in-law, Beverly Cox. A beautician, she owned and operated Sherry's Beauty Shop for many years. She was a member of the Mount Tabor Holiness Church. A piano player, Sherry loved music and was active in convention singings. She would follow the activities and sporting events of all of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband, Sonny Cox of Glenwood; her son and daughter-in-law, James Dean and Susan Cox of Glenwood; her grandchildren, Dalton Cox, Cody Bean and his wife, Taylor, Jacey Bardwell and Lauralee Bardwell; three great-grandchildren, Stetson Bean, Harlee Bean and Tatum Bean; her sister, Trudi Knighten of Glenwood; her nephew, Ronnie Knighten; her niece, Jodie Galloway and her husband, Greg; three great-nephews, Logan Knighten, Gage Galloway and Sawyer Galloway; her great-niece, Josie Galloway; three uncles; four aunts; and a host of other family members and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2015, in the Mount Tabor Community Church with Bro. Anthony Wood, Bro. J. B. Evans and Bro. Tommy McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Mount Tabor Community Church. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Coach Byron Brunt, Dalton Cox, Tanner Brunt, Chris Standridge, David Banda, Trevin Tidwell, Gio Valdez and Eric Valdez. Honorary pallbearers will be the Centerpoint Knights Basketball Teams, Coach Kevin Owens, Coach Brian Fox, Guy Ward, Hodge Rowton, Ovay McGee, Maurice Williams, Junior Dollar, Dr. James Day and staff of Baptist Health, Rachel Tidwell, Dr. Eric Bowen and staff of Hot Springs Cardiology and Dr. Matthew Hulsey and staff.
