Sherry Lynn Brown

Sherry Lynn Brown, age 71, of Hot Springs, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 11, 2023.

Sherry was born on August 13, 1952, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Norman and Dorthy Hall.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Patty Ammonds.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charlie Brown of Hot Springs, their daughter, Sonja Hudson (Matt), god-granddaughter, Chrishell (Scott), great-god-daughters, Alana and Ava Gengler, all of Tampa, Florida.  Surviving siblings include Jim Back (June) and Donna Trent (Travis) from Hot Springs, Linda Lankford from Malvern and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Sherry loved and was deeply loved by so many close Christian friends.  She was described by one friend as being like the flame that draws the moths to it, her smile and personality and her willingness to share her love drew people to her.  She was a long-time faithful member of Hot Springs Baptist Church where she was always eager to be a part of church activities including “Welcome Greeter”, “Mission Stitchers” and “Seasoned With Grace” to name a few.  She had a unique talent for turning ordinary pieces of fabric and thread into the most beautiful, one-of-a-kind, work of art in priceless quilts, table runners, throws, mando-bags, totes, coffee and soup cossies and many others.  She could understand and follow the most difficult of patterns and draw her own patterns for so many other projects that she or her Quilting “GANG” (Sherry, Brenda and Sylvia) could dream up.  This fearless three-some spent untold hours together quilting, talking about quilting and thinking about quilting and planning traveling trips to quilting shops near and far.

Sherry was truly GOD’s gift to Charlie and Sonja as the most loving, devoted and unselfish wife and mother.  Few words can adequately describe the emptiness and pain in their hearts at her going home, but they know that her only greater love than them was the love she had for Jesus Christ Her Lord and Savior.  She no longer has any pain or suffering, no more tears, fears, worries or regrets, only the indescribable peace and joy she now has in the presence of Jesus, and she is waiting to be reunited with Charlie, Sonja and all the loved ones she left behind.
