Sherman William "Tex" Wortham, age 89 of Arkadelphia formerly of Little Rock died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at the Twin Rivers Health & Rehab. He was born Dec. 10, 1916 in Cash, AR the son of the late William Franklin and Willie Rose House Wortham. He was a maintenance worker and boiler operator, a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ophie Alice Goodin Wortham and one grandson, Michael Wortham.
Survivors include four sons, Billy Joe Wortham Garrie Wortham and wife, Marian all of Arkadelphia, Larrie Wortham and wife, Jo Ann of Little Rock; Jerry Wortham and wife, Loretta of Dewitt, AR; one brother, Frank Wrotham of Jonesboro; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM. Friday, July 14, 2006 in Pine Crest Cemetery in Alexander, AR under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8PM Thursday at the Little Rock Funeral Home corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd in Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the Southern Christian Home, 100 W.
