Shelley L. Duggan Crain

Shelley L. Duggan Crain, age 68, of Hot Springs, formerly of Glenwood, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

She was born on June 19, 1952, in Glenwood, the daughter of Odean Duggan and Carmeleta “Carmel” Wright Duggan Miles. On August 23, 1975, she was married to the love of her life, Michael “Mike” Crain. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Jebadiah “Jeb” Crain; her daughter, Deandra Louise Crain; her father; her stepfather, Henry Miles; her brother, Leland Miles; and her three sisters, Serenda Jordan, Rosie O’Hotto and her infant sister, Sandra Lynn Duggan.

In her earlier years, she attended the Glenwood First Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse and for several years was the head of the medical department at the Nevada State Penitentiary. She enjoyed cooking and was a devoted wife and mother, who dearly loved taking care of her family. Shelley will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Shelley is survived by her loving husband, Mike Crain of Hot Springs; her loving daughter, Makinleigh Crain of Hot Springs; her mother, Carmel Miles of Glenwood; two brothers, Kelley Duggan and Gaylon Miles, both of Glenwood; her sister and brother-in-law, Deanice and Dan Dollar of Glenwood; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 12, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Erby Burgess officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, at the funeral home prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery in Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Gare Duggan, Larry Weatherford, Ken Vaughn, Eddie Shields, Randy Jones, Doyle Shields and Dallas Wisener.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Matthew Hulsey and his nurses and staff of Glenwood Family Medicine; and the nurses and staff of ICU, National Park Medical Center.
