Sheila Thacker

The world lost a beautiful soul that was caring and passionate about life. Sheila R. Thacker (Scott) died November 22, 2016 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on August 5, 1968 in North Bend, Oregon to Ronnie and Phyllis Scott. The family moved home to Arkansas in 1973. Sheila graduated from Benton in 1986.
Her "Mary Poppins" attitude toward life drove people crazy but carried her through many hard times, as well as, sharing with others during the good times. Her battle with cancer was brief but painful, however, she never lost her faith in God or her sense of humor; touching the hearts of all she met.
Sheila is survived by her devoted husband, Ricky Thacker, who never left her side during this illness. Children, Robert Garner, Jr. (Amber and baby Garner) of Aurora, CO, Brook Rankin (Ariel) of Benton, Danny Bolliera of Bauxite, Timothy Thacker (Ivy) of South Carolina, LaCretia Padberry (Cody) of Alabama, Heather Thacker of Washington, Ayla Spears (Josh) of Alabama. Grandchildren include Serenity Thacker, Hunter Padberry, Maranda Padberry and Kyler Spears. Siblings are Teri Johnson and husband Kevin with children, Brandon and Brock of North Carolina and Swade Scott with wife Katie and children Hunter, Dakota and Xon of Benton. Mother, Phyllis Scott of Bauxite.
The family is grateful to all the friends and family who came to visit Sheila in her final weeks. A very special heartfelt thanks to the staff at Saline Memorial, UAMS, and Saline Memorial Hospice for taking such great care of Sheila during her illness.
A memorial service will be held at Cross Bar C Cowboy Church in Benton on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 2pm.
