Sharon L. Whitten, 73, of Sherwood peacefully passed from this life March 17, 2021 after a brief illness.
Sharon was born July 4, 1947 to Lloyd and Lou Jeanne Lowrey in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the middle of three daughters and always known as the mischievous one. Sharon’s career began as a beautician, but somehow ended up in the legal field. She worked as a paralegal at Swindoll Law Firm for 35+ years, keeping everyone in line and was known as the “Boss Lady”. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association for 15 years where she was honored as Woman of the Year in 2001-2002 and served as the President from 2003-2005. Sharon spent her free time crafting and watching movies, however her favorite thing was sitting in the swing on her back porch. She loved sitting outside, where she enjoyed reading a good book and watching the birds. Sharon also loved to travel and took many adventures with her children and closest friends. Her favorites were Alaska and Hawaii. She couldn’t get enough of the whales! Her daughters would say she was a collector of many things including, but not limited to flamingos, angels, chickens, birdhouses, and windchimes. Not to mention an enormous amount of craft supplies!
On Sunday afternoons you could find her sitting on her back porch laughing and enjoying the company of her friends. Who could forget her infectious laugh?!
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister (Ellen Kay Bryant) and favorite son-in-law (Kip Jackson). Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Robin Jackson and Alison Whitten; sister, Jeanne (Fred) Apperson; nephews, Shawn (Heather) Lowrey and Fred (Sally) Apperson, best friends Barbara Johnson, Margaret Ford, and Anita Norman; and her two fur babies, Missy and Ricky. She will be greatly missed by many extended family, friends and her treasured work bunch.
The celebration of her life will be filled with love, laughter, and lots of memories. Please feel free to dress casual because she would want her friends to be comfortable.
Sharon’s celebration will begin at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Visitation will follow.
